Frequently Asked Questions

Am I able to set my own charter schedule?

Yes. Owners can pick up to 12 blackout dates per year. Members are limited to 1 full day per month or 2 half days per month. The pricing above reflects what an owner can expect to earn each month.

Besides blackout dates, when else can I use my yacht?

You will be able to schedule your yacht use at least 1 month ahead of time. Members are allowed to schedule their charters 30 days out, so your calendar will be due 31 days prior to charter.

If there is no charter scheduled, you have full use of your yacht. Be sure to schedule a cleaning with Anchor so it is ready for members the next few days.

Can a non-member charter my yacht?

That is up to you. You will typically make 20-25% more on a non-member charter. It is optional for you to list with non-members, but we do highly recommend doing so to maximize your earnings and offset your costs.

Who will be the Captain of my yacht?

Anchor has a roster of USCG Licensed Captains. We will familiarize each Captain with your vessel through our training program. Additionally, Captains will tag along as crew on the first couple charters to ensure familiarity with the vessel's operation.

If you have a trusted Captain already, Anchor will add $65/hr to your pay rate per charter to offset your cost.

How often should I be running my yacht?

The best Captains and Mechanics all agree that a yacht should be put "under load" at least once a week. While the exact number of hours or days per week may be debatable, there is one universal truth... A yacht that is sitting, is breaking.

Who will provide the yacht management services?

Anchor has partnered with the best local vendors and customized a package to fit the needs of a part-time charter operator.

Who handles the scheduling?

Anchor will manage all of your scheduling. Including the charters... we manage a calendar for you that can be updated online. We will have monthly / quarterly discussions about the performance of your yacht (and our service).

Who provides the insurance?

Anchor provides the federally required insurance. Your vessel will be covered while under contract (aka charter).

How many members are allowed per yacht?

Anchor allows 4-5 members per yacht. Which means you should not exceed 4-5 charters per month unless you wish to have more. This gives you the perfect income to expense ratio.

Who is responsible for fuel?

Fuel can be expensive... luckily, you are reimbursed for 100% of the fuel consumed during charter. Your yacht will be refueled after every charter.

A yacht sits unused 92% of the time.

As an Anchor Owner Member, you capitalize on that down time.
